Storage

Store and index (for later search and retrieval) messages signed under the Pdf, XML Signature, Cms, CADES, PADES and XADES standards.

Stamp validation

Validate and store time stamps that respond to the RFC 3161 standard.

Conservation

For electronic data messages that do not necessarily have an associated digital signature, Ares implements a set of reliable archiving rules in order to ensure the integrity of the messages throughout the time they are kept.

Digital File

Ares implements the concept of digital file which represents a set of associated evidence. Additionally, it organizes digital files in an internal file system which facilitates browsing and searching for information.

Validation

For digitally signed digital evidence, ARES performs the following validations:

  • Integrity: Verification of the hash with respect to the original document
  • Expiration: It is verified that the digital signature certificate is valid on the current date and time with respect to the chronological stamp
  • Trust: It is verified that the digital signature certificate has been issued by a trusted open digital certification authority
  • Revocation: It is verified, via OCSP or CRL protocol, that the digital certificate is valid at the time of signature generation.
